Features: For a long time, we seem to have overlooked the "virtues" of animals. In the animal world, they are no less emotional than humans. They grieve over the loss of loved ones and become melancholic when they lose companions. They also fear loneliness and understand the importance of etiquette. The relationship between humans and animals is one of the themes of the world. The tearful sorrow of animals is enough to remind us to turn swords into plowshares, and that both humans and animals need a peaceful and friendly free space. We cannot forget that animals are good friends of humans and close companions. Treat animals kindly, respect life, and the world will be harmonious and beautiful. With animals, with the harmonious coexistence of animals and humans, the world will be colorful and endlessly fascinating.
It is said that the "Ogopogo Lake Monster" has existed for a long time. The earliest inhabitants of the lake, the Native Americans, discovered it and gave it a long name: Tah-he-ha-it-sch. They lived by the lake and often used small dugout canoes to cross it. When crossing the lake, they would always bring a dog or a chicken aboard. If the monster appeared near the boat, they would throw the dog or chicken into the lake to ensure their own safety. Later, a group of settlers came to the shores of Okanagan Lake, and the existence of the monster quickly drew their attention. In 1968, Albert F. Muntz filmed a documentary about the monster in British Columbia. That day, Albert was driving along the road by Okanagan Lake when he suddenly spotted the monster in the lake nearby. He quickly stopped his car, got out to watch, and immediately chose an angle to film, capturing the documentary of the monster.
Albert's documentary, as he had estimated, gained the attention of the scientific community and was used for research. Based on some images of tree trunks seen on the film, researchers agreed that it was as long as 18 meters and moved very quickly. However, the documentary did not show the images of the monster coiled on the surface of the water, as some eyewitnesses had described. Eileen Jack, a resident of Okanagan Lake, was invited to participate in the film's evaluation. She carefully studied the background before and after the images. She then announced that she believed the film was genuine and free of deception, as it captured the activity of an unfamiliar life form living in Okanagan Lake.
In 1976, a girl was waiting at a bus stop in a nearby park when she saw a monster swimming in the lake. She screamed, attracting the attention of passersby. After that, "Ogopogo" became a hot topic among local residents, and many sightings were reported. That same year, Ed Farrow and his daughter Diana took a boat ride to enjoy the scenery of Okanagan Lake. As their boat was sailing on the lake, suddenly, a strange, huge body surfaced at the bow, blocking the boat's path. Farrow said, "If I hadn't stopped the boat in time, it would have hit the monster or pressed down on its back. Because the boat was only 10 meters away from the monster. I quickly steered the boat around it."
At the time, Farrow's boat was in Gillett Bay, very close to the shore. He quickly anchored the boat, went to get his camera, and called for his friends to help. After returning to the boat, they sailed to the center of the lake. The monster appeared again. Farrow said, "This time I saw the entire body of the monster. I am convinced that it is 20 meters long. We bravely tried to get as close to the monster as possible to take photos. Gradually, the boat approached, and the monster did not move. At a distance of 15 meters from the monster, I took a photo. We faced each other for an hour, and then the monster submerged into the water. But soon it surfaced again. This time, it was very close. I steered the boat closely behind the monster. The monster submerged and surfaced more than ten times."
