Features: This dictionary is compiled for readers with a medium level of education, containing nearly 9,000 characters (including traditional characters and variant characters). It lists standard characters (simplified characters and selected characters) as entries, with corresponding traditional and variant characters not listed separately but appended in smaller font after the entry character. Parentheses () indicate traditional characters, while brackets [] indicate variant characters. A standard character corresponding to several traditional or variant characters is listed under different meanings. Entry characters are annotated with Pinyin. Variant pronunciations are handled according to the "Table for the Review of Variants in the Common Speech" (1985 edition) published by the State Language Commission and other relevant authorities. Definitions are concise and appropriately detailed. Polysemous characters are explained in separate sections marked as ①, ②, ③. Characters not suitable for standalone definitions are illustrated with examples that cover different types, helping readers understand their various usages. Some entries or definitions are followed by explanations marked with ◇, which provide additional knowledge for readers. Explanations relevant to the entire entry are listed after the entry symbol , while those relevant to a specific definition are listed after the respective definition. The main text is arranged in Pinyin alphabetical order. An appendix titled "Single-Character Stroke Index" is included, listing all entry characters and their appended traditional and variant characters. This dictionary also includes the "Phonetic Scheme of Chinese Spelling" and the "Table for the Use of Punctuation Marks."
