Features: Adult medical education is an important component of medical education in China. To strengthen the teaching and management of adult medical education, improve the basic teaching facilities, and ensure the quality of education, the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Education jointly issued the "National Catalogue of Major Courses and Basic Requirements for Adult Higher Medical Education (Trial)." This document was established by the state to achieve the goals and requirements of adult medical education, based on the status and role of each course in a specific major. It represents the minimum qualification standards that students must meet when studying the courses in that major, serves as an important basis for compiling and reviewing teaching materials, organizing supervision and evaluation of teaching levels, and is a key guiding document for standardizing adult higher medical education in China. To facilitate the smooth implementation of this requirement, the Office of Medical Education Materials of the Ministry of Health established the National Committee for the Evaluation of Adult Higher Medical Education Textbooks and organized the compilation of the national planned textbooks for adult higher medical education (junior college level). The editors and chief editors of this series were selected from 600 candidates nationwide, all of whom are frontline teaching personnel with rich experience in teaching adult medical education. The content of the textbooks is determined based on the "National Catalogue of Major Courses and Basic Requirements for Adult Higher Medical Education (Trial)" and reviewed by the National Committee for the Evaluation of Adult Higher Medical Education Textbooks. The textbooks highlight the characteristics of adult learners who have certain work experience, are appropriately concise, and are highly targeted.
