Collection of Liu Hai Nian--Academic Committee of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences Academic Library

Author: Liu Hai-nian
Publisher:
Publishing Date: 2005-05-01
Features: The development of academic endeavors is like the Yangtze River, a vast and unending flow with waves rising one after another, much like the passing of the torch from one generation to the next, with ever-increasing brilliance. Later scholars must understand the work already accomplished by their predecessors, inherit their achievements and experiences, and build upon them to move forward. The Academic Committee of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences has gathered dozens of senior experts from dozens of disciplines within our institution, each with decades of research experience in their respective fields and having made significant contributions to their areas. The published series features representative works selected by each expert from their academic careers, bringing together their diligent scholarly journeys. It also reflects the partial achievements and developments in various fields of philosophy and social sciences in China over the past few decades, especially since the reform and opening-up. It is a highly meaningful endeavor. Except for one article, the essays in Liu Hai-nian's Collected Works are selected from publications between 1988 and 2004, primarily focusing on topics such as the rule of law, human rights, and the construction of political civilization. The last five essays are appendices, selected from internal reports co-authored by the author.
