Features: Zheng Yimei (1895–1992) was a renowned figure in Chinese literary and historical anecdotes, both in China and abroad. Since 1913, he published his writings in newspapers and magazines, and even in his advanced years, he continued to write, creating a remarkable story in the literary world. His works primarily focus on anecdotes from the late Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China, drawing from a wide range of sources to create a grand collection, serving as invaluable materials for understanding the modern literary scene. In his early works, he often used classical Chinese, concise and subtle, with an elegant charm; while in his later years, his masterpieces combined vernacular Chinese with classical elements, blending knowledge and entertainment in every stroke. These works, with their unique prose style and accessible yet refined tone, have won the admiration of readers from all walks of life. During his lifetime, Mr. Zheng compiled over forty books, and after his passing, his family published additional works from his legacy. However, most of these standalone publications were published years ago and are now difficult to find in the market. Now, Zhonghua Book Company, with the consent of Mr. Zheng's family, has selected his representative works and compiled them into the Zheng Yimei Works Collection, which will be published in standalone volumes and gradually released to delight readers.
