Features: The purpose of this book is to provide a comprehensive and systematic discussion and analysis of the main contents and research methods of game theory and information economics. It can serve three purposes: First, as a textbook for senior undergraduate and graduate students in economics and related fields; second, as a self-study guide for economists and scholars from other disciplines who have not taken game theory; third, as a reference manual on game theory and information economics placed on the bookshelf. When writing this book, the author assumes that readers have a foundation in intermediate microeconomics but lack introductory knowledge of game theory. Therefore, the book introduces the core concepts of game theory in a step-by-step manner. The main objective of this book is not to tell readers what game theory is, but to guide them in applying the theories introduced in the book to analyze real-world economic phenomena. To achieve this purpose, the author cites numerous examples when presenting basic concepts and theories, some of which are self-invented by the author. Although most examples are from economics, there are also many from other disciplines, such as law, political science, sociology, etc. The purpose of doing so is not only to broaden the horizons of economics majors but also to attract readers from other disciplines. In recent years, economics has been providing tools for other disciplines, but perhaps no other tool is more powerful than game theory.
