Features: In the 21st century, how will the role of architects or the behavior of architectural design change? When considering this question, the first thing to consider is: how will the living conditions of different regions and groups of people change? How will the social conditions change? For these questions, we should think about them from relevant aspects such as cities, architecture, and living environments. While considering the current social conditions and the abilities that architects must possess, we will interpret the "7 Key Issues in the Architectural Field of the 21st Century" and explore the background, key points, and relevant design examples and technical solutions for each issue.
1st Key Issue: Multimedia Technology
2nd Key Issue: Sustainable Development
3rd Key Issue: Universal Design
4th Key Issue: Workplace
5th Key Issue: Overall Project Management
6th Key Issue: Collaboration
7th Key Issue: Creating Community
In the 21st century, the architectural field, aside from the above-mentioned 7 key issues, certainly has many other problems. However, the author believes that these 7 key issues are unavoidable. Each of these issues is complex and important, and as long as the architect clearly understands their mission, they will be able to find corresponding solutions. Therefore, it is not enough to merely understand these issues superficially; instead, it is essential to grasp their essence. This requires architects to possess strong insight, to treat nature kindly, to observe human behavior and psychology, and ultimately to achieve the ideal state of "loving everyone and being loved by everyone."
