Features: The three-dimensional form of interior design, i.e., spatial art, while the two-dimensional form can be understood as the compositional art of facade forms. The facade compositional form is the foundation point of spatial form. Interior design is a discipline that integrates space, color, form, lighting, materials, craftsmanship, design style, and environmental art. Space is the core element in the interior design system, serving as both the starting point and the endpoint of interior design. Interior design must focus on various factors of space, such as functionality, aesthetics, and structure. The guiding principle of interior design is to maximize the display of spatial artistic form, which is more comprehensively embodied through new theories, technologies, materials, and craftsmanship. Traditional Chinese architectural design styles and Feng Shui culture have a profound influence on modern interior design. The history of architecture and the development of related design technologies deeply impact spatial artistic form. Spatial art originates from the development of cultural and artistic as well as scientific and technological advancements. The essence of spatial art stems from the concepts of traditional architectural spaces in the East and West. Spatial art is culturally and socially significant, as different public activities require distinct spatial forms. Spatial art is a unity of material and spiritual needs. Spatial art maximizes the principles of formal beauty. The foundation of spatial art lies in the physical environment of space and the artificial ecological environment. Spatial art is fashion art; the vitality of space comes from the expression of fashion. Space must be organically integrated with the building structure to showcase the vitality of decoration. Space is an organic unity of internal and external spaces. The above are the author's insights from over a decade of experience in interior and architectural design. Every historical period's spatial art can be distilled into visually impactful spatial form symbols and various spatial artistic forms. Interior Design Facade Compositional Art compiles nearly a thousand selected works of public and residential building decorations recently designed by the author, presented through facade compositional art forms (i.e., two-dimensional spatial forms), aiming to help interior designers and art students in universities and colleges understand spatial artistic form (i.e., three-dimensional spatial form). Additionally, the facade compositional works in this book are used to elaborate on the author's understanding and implementation of spatial design concepts. It is hoped that this will contribute to the development of the interior decoration industry.
