Features: This revision was carried out based on the extensive feedback gathered from teachers across the country who have used this series of teaching materials, as well as opinions collected from tens of thousands of teachers and students through questionnaires. The University Foreign Language Teaching Guidance Committee provided comprehensive guidance and support for the revision of this textbook. The purpose of the revision is "facing the 21st century and elevating college English teaching to a new level." The revised version makes appropriate adjustments to the texts based on the specific conditions of each tutorial, improves the coverage rate of syllabus vocabulary and the frequency of common vocabulary, further refines the exercises, and emphasizes the practice of key words. At the same time, it strengthens the horizontal connections between the various tutorials of Guoqiang, ensuring that each is self-contained yet complementary, forming a whole. The revised version pays more attention to the general applicability across disciplines such as humanities, science, engineering, agriculture, and medicine, striving to lay a solid "broad, deep, and firm" language foundation for students.
Part A is for micro-listening skills training, Part B is for macro-listening skills training on discourse as a whole, and Part C is for oral practice. To facilitate students' preview, learning points (Learning Points) are listed before each material in Part B, including words and phrases (Words and Phrases) (listing words with phonetic symbols and Chinese definitions, including proper nouns and phrases), basic structures (Basic Structures), and useful expressions (Useful Expressions). Students are required to preview this section. The exercises are completed in class and do not need to be prepared in advance.
