Features: Since its publication, "The Green Channel" has been reprinted multiple times to meet the needs of English learners and users. Designed and written for adult English speaking learning, "The Green Channel" can be used in formal classroom teaching or for self-study. It is particularly suitable for candidates preparing for the English Speaking Proficiency Examination (GESE) jointly launched by Trinity College London and Beijing Education Examination and Research Institute. At the back of the user manual for "The Green Channel," there is an official letter of recognition from Trinity College London, acknowledging that "The Green Channel" is one of the reference textbooks for the GESE examination. GESE is a distinctive speaking examination with high reliability and validity, and thus an increasing number of English learners are taking this exam. Among the candidates, a considerable proportion are primary and secondary school students. These candidates come from full-time public schools and private foreign language training institutions in Beijing. Many schools and parents have requested a set of oral textbooks more suitable for children's learning and exam preparation. In addition, over the past few years, through our English speaking training and pre-examination tutoring for primary and secondary school students, we have gained some methods and experience. Given these requirements and our certain experience in teaching practice, we decided to compile "The Green Channel." The three volumes of "The Green Channel" are roughly equivalent to the requirements of the GESE speaking examination levels 1-10. The newly compiled children's edition follows the requirements of the GESE preliminary level, based on the original textbook, absorbing the core content of the first volume and the first half of the second volume, and is divided into four volumes to adapt to children's English learning. "The Green Channel" can also serve as a guidebook for primary and junior high school students taking the GESE speaking examination levels 1-4, ensuring consistency in content and requirements between the original and the children's edition. To help users and parents of young learners better understand "The Green Channel," we have also included the official letter of recognition from Trinity College London in this book. During the compilation of "The Green Channel," we fully took into account the psychological characteristics of children learning English and the actual language learning and expression abilities of primary and secondary school students in China. We referred to the objectives for listening and speaking skills at levels 1-5 in the "Curriculum Standards for Compulsory Education English" issued by the Ministry of Education and combined them with the GESE examination syllabus. In terms of writing format, picture design, teaching methods, and the amount of learning per class, we carefully considered and designed them to help young learners enjoy the fun and sense of achievement in learning English, embodying the teaching philosophy of "learning through play" and "teaching in accordance with aptitude." The entire textbook features practical language, innovative structure, vivid illustrations, and a strong sense of fun. Its content is close to the daily lives of primary and secondary school students, making it easy to learn, remember, and apply in real-life situations, providing significant help in improving children's speaking skills.
