Features: The "World History Curriculum" and "Chinese History Curriculum" were first published in June 1999 and put into teaching use in the same autumn. Compared to previous general history textbooks, these two sets of textbooks emphasize the purpose of research-based learning and ability development, aiming to leave room for teachers to perform and for students to think, breaking free from the conventional, all-encompassing, and repetitive models. Based on this, each volume in the textbooks adopts an upper and lower part structure. The upper part is based on chronological periods, taking major historical events and key systems, cultures as the main lines to outline the historical process of different eras. The lower part selects several major historical issues that span different eras for in-depth analysis and discussion. To facilitate further study, a "Guide," "Reflections and Discussion" are provided after each chapter.
