Features: With the development of China's tourism industry and tourism education, Beijing Second Foreign Language University, as the only full-time undergraduate tourism major directly under the China National Tourism Administration, has organized the writing and publication of a series of tourism textbooks to meet the needs of national tourism education development, which has become a natural and logical step. "Tourism Professional Series Textbooks" is one of the series of textbooks planned for writing and publication by our university. The tourism industry, generally refers to the behavior of attracting and receiving tourists, providing comprehensive services such as transportation, sightseeing, accommodation, catering, shopping, and entertainment for tourists, relying on tourism resources and facilities, either exclusively or primarily. Since World War II, the tourism industry has become one of the fastest-growing industries in the world's economy, ranking as the largest industry in the world today, and the most expansive and dynamic industry globally. Statistics show that from 1950 to 1994, the number of international tourists worldwide increased nearly 21 times, with revenue rising from $2.1 billion to $335.6 billion, an increase of 159 times. By 1995, the total global international and domestic tourism revenue approached $3.4 trillion, accounting for 10.9% of the gross domestic product of countries worldwide. The number of people employed directly and indirectly in the tourism industry reached 212 million.
