Features: Dear Piano Pupils: I hope you can enjoy playing four-hand ensemble pieces with your friends, parents, and teachers. Here are a few tips to help you:
1. During practice, don’t always play only part. Once you’ve mastered part, you might enjoy playing the second part together.
2. Before starting to play, count a small measure of the time signature and tap the beat silently with your left hand. Take turns counting between the two players. If one person makes a mistake or gets lost, be prepared to pick up from any measure or any beat.
3. Whenever you see the “little glasses” symbol, pay attention to your partner’s face and hands. It will help you stay in sync at the beginning, end, pauses, when the music slows down, and when it speeds up again.
4. Follow the dynamic changes of the music carefully. The second part should never be louder than part.
