Features: This dictionary includes over 4,000 common Persian proverbs. They can be categorized into three major types.
First category consists of carefully selected Persian proverbs, characterized by their brevity and profound meaning. These proverbs are often illustrated through specific examples from daily life, explaining universal life lessons. Most of them are widely known, deeply meaningful, and household names.
Second category includes proverb-like phrases. Unlike the first category, which typically appears as complete sentences, the second category consists of language units smaller than sentences but contains various advisory and instructive elements found in proverbs. Grammatically, they often take the form of infinitives or short comments. Their distinctive feature is that they often go beyond literal meanings, yet can still be derived with profound and universal significance.
Third category features quotes from renowned Persian language and literature masters, who are deeply beloved in Iran. From their own unique perspectives and standpoints, these masters express their reflections, insights, and views on the world, everything, and the path of life through their eloquent statements. A significant number of Persian proverbs originate from these masters' quotes.
