Features: Huanggang High School, founded in 1904 in Huanggang, Hubei Province, was designated as a key high school in Hubei Province in 1953 and was awarded the title of "Advanced Unit in the National Education System" in 1986. In 2002, it was recognized as an "Advanced Unit in National Spiritual Civilization Construction." Huanggang High School upholds the educational philosophy of "people-centered, virtue-based education" and has developed a distinctive approach to nurturing students that emphasizes "comprehensiveness plus specialization." It has also pioneered a teaching style characterized by "seeking truth, refinement, novelty, and innovation." The outstanding performance in college entrance exams and competitions is a natural outcome of its long-term implementation of quality-oriented education and merely one aspect of its abundant teaching achievements.
When it comes to cultivating students, what magic formula does Huanggang High School possess? What is its ability to turn sand into a tower? What is its skill in transforming ordinary into extraordinary? These are questions I often hear. If one believes that Huanggang High School merely follows the (command) of college entrance exams and passively engages in test-taking, that would be incorrect. Huanggang High School does not advocate rote memorization or passive problem-solving. If it has any exceptional qualities, it lies in its ability to fully grasp the intent of test-setters and deeply understand the underlying principles, positioning itself as a leader rather than a blind follower.
Huanggang High School does not oppose teachers immersing themselves in a sea of problems but strongly advocates that students break free from it. It opposes students from doing mechanical, simple, repetitive, and tedious exercises but requires them to complete necessary ones. We encourage students to tackle diverse and widely applicable problems, allowing them to enrich their knowledge, develop skills, and enhance their qualities through the process of problem-solving.
If Huanggang High School has any other successes, it is that while nurturing a large number of outstanding students, it has also forged its teaching staff, cultivating renowned teachers who are celebrated in Hubei Province. These teachers possess profound scientific and cultural literacy, innovative educational concepts, unique teaching styles, artistic flair, and remarkable teaching achievements.
To showcase the talents of Huanggang High School's teachers and share their teaching results, we have organized a team of frontline core teachers to meticulously plan and compile four series of books: "Huanggang High School Homework Books," "Huanggang High School Exam Papers," "Huanggang High School 2007 College Entrance Exam Second and Third Round Training Questions," and "Huanggang High School Junior High School Entrance Exam Comprehensive Review."
The "Huanggang High School Junior High School Entrance Exam Comprehensive Review" series adopts a three-module format—"Knowledge Explanation," "Example Problem Analysis," and "Intensive Training"—to highlight its distinctive features. From every perspective, it strives to closely align with the junior high school entrance exams, reflect real-world applications, emphasize innovation, and focus on practicality. The content of this series is partly derived from internal teaching materials and exchanges with friendly schools, while the other part consists of newly supplemented materials based on recent changes in junior high school entrance exam questions. It is now compiled and published for the first time, making its debut publicly.
This series also embodies the following writing philosophy and characteristics:
1. Based on the textbook, this series thoroughly organizes the entire junior high school curriculum. In each knowledge unit, it emphasizes the balance of teaching, examples, practice, and evaluation, helping students quickly grasp the content of the unit.
2. This series is designed to closely align with the requirements of the junior high school entrance exams. Most of the example problems and exercises included are sourced from recent junior high school entrance exam questions across various provinces and cities, significantly enhancing the relevance and timeliness of the series.
3. This series also focuses on the extensibility of knowledge explanation, with particular attention to developing students' critical thinking skills, their ability to connect with real-life situations, and their interdisciplinary competencies.
