Features: When Stephen started fixing the car, it was almost lunchtime.
“ I have to pull the tire over the rim with force,” he explained, “then I can use leverage to remove the tire — see.”
Charlotte feigned a look of holding back a yawn, and Stephen’s mouth fell displeasingly.
“Alright, don’t ask me to do your homework again!”
“I won’t, it’s settled!” Charlotte said.
“Yes, it’s quite interesting. The rubber of the outer tire provides friction to grip the ground, while the inflated inner tube cushions the impact of the ground, so you can ride smoothly.”
Stephen pulled out the soft inner tube and began to look for the puncture.
A few days later, Charlotte’s dad drove her grandmother to the hospital.
“I really don’t want to go to that hellhole.” Her grandmother said this for the third time.
“You’ll be fine, Grandma.” Charlotte said. She leaned forward from the back seat, gripping her grandmother’s pale, weak hand. Her grandmother weakly smiled. Under the white bangs, her blue eyes were moist.
