Patient's question:
I recently have symptoms of testicular pain, with pain in the scrotum and groin area as well. I suspect I might have orchitis, but I don't understand how it happened or why I got orchitis. What are the causes of orchitis?Doctor's answer:
Testicular can recur following urethritis and cystitis. The common pathogens include Escherichia coli, Proteus, Staphylococcus, Streptococcus faecalis, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. The transmission routes are primarily divided into hematogenous transmission, direct transmission, and lymphatic transmission. Clinical diagnosis mainly manifests as pain radiating to the ipsilateral inguinal region and lower abdomen, accompanied by chills, high fever, and gastrointestinal symptoms. It is often accompanied by epididymitis, where the boundaries between the epididymis and testis become unclear, the epididymis becomes hardened, and the vas deferens becomes thickened.
