Patient's question:
What causes epididymitis. Yesterday, I suddenly felt my body temperature was a bit high, feverish, and then there was intense pain in the testicles. The pain was so severe that I felt nauseous and almost vomited. When I carefully examined the area between my legs, I noticed some swelling in the testicles, and pressing lightly caused pain. I went to the hospital for a check-up, and the doctor said I had epididymitis. What are the causes of epididymitis?Doctor's answer:
Acute orchitis occurs rapidly, presenting as a heavy and distended discomfort in the affected scrotum, severe local pain, and even affecting urination. The pain can radiate to the ipsilateral groin area and lower abdomen, accompanied by systemic discomfort and high fever. Physical examination: the affected epididymis is swollen and tender. In more severe cases, the inflammation can involve the testis, and the scrotal skin may become red and swollen again. Chronic orchitis is more common than acute orchitis, with some patients developing it from an acute phase that was not properly treated and consequently became chronic.
