Features: To further promote the development of socialist education science in China, the Division of Educational Science of the Chinese Educational Society and the Institute of Curriculum and Textbook Research of the State Education Commission jointly organized the compilation of the Series of Branch Disciplines of Educational Science (hereinafter referred to as the Series), sponsored for publication by the People's Education Press. The Series proceeds from the perspective of the classification of educational science, systematically reflecting the history and current state of educational science from the angle of its branch disciplines, attempting to outline the general picture of educational science. Guided by historical materialism and the strategic thinking of "facing modernization, the world, and the future." At the same time, it strives to achieve "three combinations": the combination of history and logic, the combination of materials and viewpoints, and the combination of narration and analysis. The Series is an academic work, requiring authors to extensively gather materials and discuss the emergence, development, and trends of disciplines vertically, while comparatively analyzing and evaluating different schools of thought horizontally. "To know others is wisdom; to know oneself is enlightenment," through the review and analysis of research findings at home and abroad, it strives to reflect the forefront of the discipline while also embodying the authors' own insights. The authors of the Series are primarily middle-aged and young scholars. To improve the quality of the manuscripts, each volume has invited renowned scholars as special reviewers. The special reviewers conduct a comprehensive review of the manuscripts, engaging in equal academic exchanges with the authors. Both the special reviewers and the series editor respect the authors' different academic viewpoints that are well-founded and reasoned. The differentiation of educational science has already had a history of a century or more, and now it has formed numerous branch disciplines. However, relatively speaking, some are relatively mature, while others are still quite. This makes the authors of each branch discipline not start from the same starting line. Nevertheless, under the new historical conditions, the more mature disciplines demand new developments, while the more disciplines require rapid growth. As educational practice and theory develop, along with the development of practice and theory in related fields, the differentiation of educational science continues. What this Series presents is only the general outline of the current branch disciplines of educational science. As for those that are either too young to be fully developed or for which suitable authors could not be found and thus could not be included in this Series, we are left with no choice but to regretfully omit them for the time being. The Series is advised by Ye Liqun, Vice President of the Chinese Educational Society and Executive Director of the Division of Educational Science, as well as former President and General Editor of the People's Education Press. The Series has an editorial board, with members listed in alphabetical order: Wang Hanlan (Professor at Henan University), Wang Daojun (Professor at Central China Normal University), Lü Da (Researcher at the Institute of Curriculum and Textbook Research of the State Education Commission and Editor-in-Chief of the People's Education Press), Sun Xiting (Professor at Beijing Normal University), Zhang Renjie (Professor at Guangzhou Normal University), Hu Yisheng (Editor-in-Chief of the People's Education Press), and Qu Baokui (Professor at East China Normal University). Qu Baokui, Vice President of the Chinese Educational Society and Deputy Executive Director of the Division of Educational Science, serves as the editor-in-chief, while Lü Da, Executive Deputy Director of the Institute of Curriculum and Textbook Research of the State Education Commission and Deputy General Editor of the People's Education Press, serves as the deputy editor-in-chief. The editorial and publishing work of the Series has been highly valued and supported by the People's Education Press. Comrade Ye Liqun provided guiding opinions for the planning of the Series and has consistently shown concern for it. Comrade Zhang Jianru, former President of the People's Education Press, and Comrade Wu Liping, former General Editor, provided strong support and advice. Comrade Ma Zhanggen, current President of the People's Education Press, and Comrade Wei Guodong, Executive Deputy President and Deputy General Editor, have persistently included the Series as a key book, actively guiding and arranging its publication. The systematic structuring of the Series of Branch Disciplines of Educational Science is an attempt, and any shortcomings or errors are sincerely hoped to be pointed out by the readers.
