Administrative law

Author: [Japan] Hironobu Shiina
Publisher:
Publish Date: 1999-04-01
Features: This book is based on the lecture notes used by the author when teaching administrative law at the Faculty of Law, Tokyo University. Volume I discusses the basic principles of administrative law and the administrative process, Volume II covers administrative relief, and Volume III addresses administrative organizations. Under the new constitution, Japan has been committed to establishing and improving modern legal systems with the goals of achieving democracy and the rule of law. This book also attempts to theoretically organize and summarize various aspects of administrative law in line with this fundamental direction. During the organization process, it adopts a more dynamic and comprehensive approach to examining the administrative process, focusing on a series of issues previously unaddressed in administrative law, thereby adhering to the methodology of administrative process theory. This is one of the distinctive features of the book. While administrative procedure law is also discussed in this book, due to the ongoing debates in the Diet and committees on issues such as information disclosure, local decentralization, and civil servant system reform at this stage, in-depth discussion cannot be provided. It is hoped that readers will also pay attention to these new developments in Japan.
