Features: Based on the previous edition, this book has been appropriately revised with significant changes, where many topics are almost completely rewritten, hence titled as "New Edition." Due to the extensive revisions, the book has become quite lengthy and is published in two volumes. The first volume primarily covers the occurrence of debts and the objects of debts. While the format of this book largely maintains the style of the previous edition, it still differs significantly from the old version. Based on the previous edition, this book has been appropriately revised with significant changes, where many topics are almost completely rewritten, hence titled as "New Edition." Due to the extensive revisions, the book has become quite lengthy and is published in two volumes. The first volume primarily covers the occurrence of debts and the objects of debts. The format of this book largely maintains the style of the previous edition, but it still differs significantly from the old version. Four points deserve special mention: (1) Strengthening the critical implications of major controversial issues in the general theory of debts through methodological reflection; (2) Rigorous exploration of the context of legal interpretation and the construction of the system; (3) Deliberate and prudent application of legal methodology, particularly teleological interpretation and analogy; (4) Careful review and specific examination of the revision achievements of the (debt section) of the Civil Code of the Taiwan Area. It is hoped that these four aspects will help readers gradually delve into the realm of debt law. Regarding the revised articles of the (debt section) of the Civil Code of the Taiwan Area, this book offers numerous criticisms. With a humble and limited perspective, I am willing to share these views with the public, hoping they may contribute, in the slightest degree, to the precision and perfection of the debt law system. However, with my dull and limited understanding, subjective biases and omissions are inevitable. I sincerely hope that advanced scholars, teachers, and friends will understand and kindly offer further guidance.
