Features: "Data Structures" is a comprehensive foundational course in computer science, involving knowledge from three areas: mathematics, computer software, and computer hardware. It is closely related to advanced programming languages, discrete mathematics, and software engineering. The purpose of learning this course is to master the thinking and methods of using computers to solve various real-world problems. For specific problems, one should first analyze them, abstract an appropriate mathematical model, then design corresponding algorithms, write source code, and finally debug and run the program to achieve the goal of solving the problem. This book is written in accordance with the format of a textbook, adhering to learning patterns in the organization and description of its content. Its knowledge points align with those of undergraduate institutions, emphasizing the completeness of the discipline system. The book consists of 10 chapters, divided into three parts in terms of layout, primarily focusing on the logical structure of data. Some chapters are presented in the form of examples, adopting a task-driven mode to introduce the basic content of each chapter. For theoretical and conceptual parts, a traditional approach is used: defining concepts first, followed by illustrative examples. The book does not emphasize theoretical derivation and verification processes but focuses on using structures to solve practical problems. Algorithms are presented with application as the goal. Through examples, solutions to problems are identified, and then algorithms are derived from these solutions, with the final description provided. The last three chapters include analyses of typical algorithms and cases. The book features novel content and abundant examples, making it suitable as a textbook for "Data Structures" courses in higher education institutions or for self-study. To facilitate teaching and self-learning, the book is accompanied by electronic teaching materials and the source code for all programs, which can be downloaded from the China Water Conservancy and Hydropower Press website at http://www.watrepub.com.cn/softdown/.
