Features: From entering the liberated areas to Beijing, through the national liberation, he wanted to break free from the personal disputes in the literary world and, guided by party principles, become an ordinary laborer. As one of the representatives of the literary and art circles, he participated in the People's Political Consultative Conference after the founding of the country and, in the midst of burning passion, wrote "Time Has Begun!", titled as the five-part epic of heroic history. However, he faced attacks from sectarian dogmatists and could not continue publishing it. He then wrote "Among New People," recording the new life and heroic models, and the essay "From the Source to the Torrent." When the Korean War broke out, he wrote "For Korea, For Humanity!" and again faced criticism from some people due to his past literary views. But unwilling to engage in public rebuttal, he kept it piled up for over two years. Inspired by the communique of the Fourth Plenary Session of the Central Committee, he wrote a four-part report to the Central Committee and Chairman Mao Zedong on the issue of literary practice. This is generally referred to as the "Three Hundred Thousand Word Letter."
