Features: During a hunt for vampires, Lain encounters the beautiful female vampire Omantiss and falls in love with her. He also uncovers a huge secret about his own background: Lain is the mixed child of the powerful and evil vampire Pasephon and an ordinary mortal man. Pasephon is obsessed with a cruel game—enticing mortal men to fall in love with her and bear children with her, then killing the father and the child when the child turns thirteen. Just as Pasephon kills Lain’s father and prepares to strike at Lain, the Vampire Hunters’ Society rescues him and raises him, training him to become an outstanding vampire hunter. When Lain grows into adulthood, Pasephon’s dark claws reach for him again, hatching a terrible plot—three powerful descendants of the vampire family Lyia, the blood goddess Omantiss, the ice goddess Asetti, and the blood goddess Ilina, once united to seal the fearsome vampire doctor Isita. Pasephon’s scheme is to awaken the evil Isita using the magic inherited from Lain. To destroy Pasephon’s plot, the Vampire Hunters’ Society temporarily joins forces with the three great vampire powers to seal Pasephon.
