Patient's question:
I found that my leukorrhea is becoming more abnormal. The amount of leukorrhea is increasing, and besides a strong fishy odor, there are also a few blood streaks in it. Before my period, I will experience lower abdominal and waist pain again. What symptoms will reappear if a woman's cervix becomes enlarged?
Doctor's answer:
When there is severe cervical erosion or cervical polyps, it may present as bloody leukorrhea with skin peeling after sexual intercourse. In mild cases, there may be no systemic symptoms. When the inflammation spreads along the uterosacral ligaments to the pelvic cavity, it may cause lower back and sacral pain, a sense of heaviness and distension in the lower abdomen, and dysmenorrhea, often aggravated during defecation or sexual intercourse. Additionally, viscous purulent leukorrhea facilitates sperm penetration but can also lead to infertility. There may also be urinary symptoms such as frequent urination, urgency, and dysuria (bladder irritation). Chronic cervical inflammation presents as creamy, mucous-like leukorrhea or pale yellow purulent discharge.
