What is the reason for the cervix being purplish?

Patient's question:

Main symptoms: Ectopic ovulation bleeding
Onset time: Test results:
After thinprep cervical cytology test, squamous epithelium was diagnosed as benign reactive changes;
Colposcopy showed the cervix was purplish;
Color Doppler ultrasound revealed the uterus is anteverted, size 975472MM, with heterogeneous muscle wall echoes, endometrial thickness of 6MM, centrally located. The cervix showed heterogeneous echoes with two clear cystic formations, one measuring approximately 44MM.
No definite space-occupying lesions were observed in bilateral adnexal regions, and no abnormal blood flow signals were detected.
Dilated vascular echoes were observed in the myometrium, with the widest internal diameter measuring about 11MM.

Doctor's answer:

Hello, your uterus is larger. This result suggests the possibility of adenomyosis, and your endometrial muscle layer echoes are uneven. Do you have menstrual cramps? If you have progressively worsening menstrual cramps, it is generally possible to diagnose adenomyosis.
