Is endometrial polyps necessarily require surgery?

Patient's question:

Recently, every time I have sex, my vagina bleeds. At first, I thought it was incomplete menstruation, but after a few more times, it was the same. I then went to the hospital for a check-up, and it turned out to be an endometrial polyp. The doctor said it can be treated surgically. I was wondering if endometrial polyps must be surgically treated?

Doctor's answer:

Of course, we need to have surgery, otherwise it will grow. But this is just a very small surgery, don't worry. Endometrial polyps are actually a chronic inflammatory lesion. In recent years, the incidence of cervical cancer has been increasing, and there is a trend of gradually getting younger.
