Features: Many collections of Gaokao (China's National College Entrance Examination) questions or Gaokao questions combined with mock exam questions already exist in the book market. However, the concept of this series is entirely new: we not only demand fresh content, innovative formats, a high-end positioning, and an elegant taste, but also place greater emphasis on applicability and ease of use, ensuring that teachers find it convenient to teach with and students gain significant benefits from it. To this end, we strive to achieve the following points in the writing process:
1. Meticulously Planned Gaokao Review
The taboo is: repeatedly practicing problems you already know and consistently struggling with those you don’t.
To prevent students from wasting time on excessive, redundant practice, the selection of problems in this book is meticulously curated. The questions are sourced from Gaokao problems and mock exams from top schools, which have been refined by the collective effort and wisdom of numerous question-setting experts. Moreover, they are carefully chosen by teachers who have long been engaged in the Gaokao preparation front line and possess extensive research on the exam. Our goal is: to have students practice a small number of problems while mastering typical solutions for each.
2. Applicable and Easy to Use
For the vast array of Gaokao questions and mock exams, we only select highly targeted problems that ensure a focus on fundamental knowledge, skills, and methods, while also addressing the improvement of abilities. To facilitate use by teachers and students, we label the difficulty level of each question: A for basic, B for intermediate, and C for advanced. The organization is structured as follows: for science subjects, it closely aligns with teaching schedules, selecting problems by lesson; for humanities, it pairs with units.
3. Scientific Classification
The results of the Gaokao not only determine who enters university but also dictate whether they attend top-tier or ordinary institutions. Therefore, the questions must be tiered, and the scores must show a clear disparity. What then determines this score gap? Practice has shown that the performance on intermediate-level questions is the most critical factor. Thus, in addition to reclassifying and organizing the questions according to the new Gaokao Examination Specifications in terms of content and sequence, we also holistically consider the same content, including the order and difficulty level, to ensure the proportion of basic, intermediate, and advanced questions in the entire book remains 2:6:2.
