Features: Many collections of Gaokao (China's National College Entrance Examination) questions or Gaokao questions combined with Gaokao simulation tests already exist in the book market, but the concept of this series is entirely new: we not only demand lively content, novel formats, high-end positioning, and elegant taste, but also place greater emphasis on applicability and ease of use, ensuring that teachers find it effortless to teach with and students gain significant benefits from it. To achieve this, we strive to accomplish the following points in the writing process:
1. Meticulously Planned Gaokao Review
The taboo is: repeatedly practicing problems you already know and consistently struggling with those you don’t. To prevent students from wasting time on excessive, repetitive, and useless exercises, the selection of problems in this book is refined to the utmost. The sources of the questions come from Gaokao problems and simulation tests from top schools, which are the result of the collective effort and wisdom of numerous question-setting experts. Moreover, they are carefully chosen by teachers who have dedicated years to high school teaching and have deep insights into Gaokao. Our principle is: let students solve a small number of problems while mastering typical problem-solving methods.
2. Applicable and Easy to Use
For the vast number of Gaokao and simulation questions, we only select highly targeted problems that ensure coverage of fundamental knowledge, skills, and methods, while also focusing on improving abilities. To facilitate use by teachers and students, we label the difficulty level of each question: A for basic, B for intermediate, and C for advanced. The organization system is as follows: for science subjects, it is closely linked to teaching schedules, with questions selected by lesson; for humanities, it is paired with units.
3. Scientific Classification
The results of Gaokao not only determine who can enter university but also decide which tier of university they attend—whether it’s a top-tier or a general one. Therefore, the questions must be tiered, and the scores must be differentiated. What then determines the score differentiation? Practice shows that the performance on intermediate-level questions is the most critical factor. Thus, in addition to reclassifying and organizing the questions according to the new Gaokao Examination Specifications in terms of content and sequence, we also consider the overall structure of the same content, including the order and difficulty level, to maintain a ratio of 2:6:2 for basic, intermediate, and advanced questions throughout the book.
