Features: Many collections of Gaokao (China's National College Entrance Examination) questions or Gaokao questions combined with Gaokao simulation tests already exist in the book market, but the concept of this series is entirely new: we not only demand lively content, innovative forms, a high-end positioning, and a refined taste, but also place greater emphasis on applicability and ease of use, ensuring that teachers find it effortless to teach with and students gain significant benefits from it. To this end, we strive to achieve the following points in the writing process:
1. Meticulously Planned Gaokao Review
To be avoided: Repeatedly practicing questions you already know and consistently struggling with questions you don’t. To prevent students from wasting time on excessive, repetitive, and useless practice, the selection of questions in this book is meticulously curated. Not only do the questions originate from Gaokao and simulation tests from top schools, which are the culmination of the effort and wisdom of numerous question-setting experts, but they are also carefully chosen by teachers who have long been engaged in the Gaokao frontline and have extensive research on the exam. Our principle is: let students solve a small number of questions while mastering typical problem-solving methods.
2. Applicable and Easy to Use
For the vast number of Gaokao and simulation questions, we only select highly targeted problems that ensure coverage of basic knowledge, skills, and methods, while also focusing on improving abilities. To facilitate use by teachers and students, we label the difficulty level of each question: A for basic, B for intermediate, and C for advanced. The organization system is as follows: for science subjects, it is closely aligned with teaching periods, with questions selected by period; for humanities, it is paired with units.
3. Scientific Classification
The results of the Gaokao not only determine who enters university but also which tier of university they attend. Therefore, the questions must be tiered, and the scores must be differentiated. What then determines the score differentiation? Practice shows that the performance on intermediate-level questions is the most critical factor. Thus, in addition to reclassifying and organizing the questions according to the new Gaokao Examination Instructions in terms of content and sequence, we also give an overall consideration to questions of the same content, including their order and difficulty level, ensuring that the proportion of basic, intermediate, and advanced questions in the entire book remains at 2:6:2.
