This campaign is jointly organized by the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, the Communist Youth League Central Committee, the State Administration of Press and Publication, the Ministry of Information Industry, the Ministry of Culture, the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, the Working Committee for the Care of the Next Generation, the Guangming Daily, and the Central Committee of the China Democratic League, with guidance from the Ministry of Education. Since its launch on March 1, 2005, Professor Tao Hongkai and other experts have conducted themed lectures in over 70 cities across the country, reaching more than 100,000 direct audiences and mobilizing over 10,000 volunteers. The campaign has achieved remarkable results in calling for to pay attention to the harms of internet addiction, preventing internet addiction among adolescents, popularizing scientific internet knowledge, and guiding young people to use the internet correctly. In July 2005, the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee listed this activity as a "model initiative for serving adolescents."
