Features: This is a textbook co-authored by a seasoned Chinese teacher of Chinese as a second language and scholars from Chulalongkorn University in Thailand. It is a truly country-specific Chinese language textbook. The series consists of four volumes. Each volume is divided into two parts: "Textbook" and "Exercises." Volumes I and II are structured around form, integrating function and culture. Volumes III and IV gradually transition from daily communication activities to topic discussions while still covering language structure and function.
The "Textbook" is the main component, including specific sections such as "Main Lesson," "Dialogue Practice," and "Listening Texts." The "Main Lesson" further comprises "Text," "Vocabulary," and "Proper Nouns," along with "Notes," "Key Vocabulary and Fixed Expressions," and "Sentence Patterns." All texts in Volumes I and II are presented in dialogue form (review lessons excepted); Volume III primarily features dialogues with occasional short passages; Volume IV combines dialogues and short passages. The later volumes also include some written language elements.
The "Dialogue Practice" section includes "Reading Dialogues" and "Expression Training." The "Exercises" are designed to complement the "Textbook" and can be used selectively based on the learner's needs. The vocabulary in this textbook is presented in both traditional and simplified characters for the initial entries, while other sections use only simplified characters.
