Features: Currently, China's social security reform is at a critical juncture, and one of the key factors determining its success is the ability to ensure a large number of outstanding professionals. Although China's social security discipline started relatively late and has a short history, it has developed very rapidly. Nowadays, many universities have already established this major, and many others are expected to open it in the near future. However, the development of the social security discipline has also exposed many problems, some of which are quite serious. One of them is that the textbook development for this major is severely lagging and has already seriously affected the discipline's progress. Against this backdrop, our university's Labor and Social Security major utilized its strong faculty resources to organize teachers both inside and outside the school, along with other outstanding professionals, to compile a series of social security textbooks and integrate it into the university's "Project 211." Social Assistance and Social Welfare is one of the textbooks in this series. This book provides both a general overview of social assistance and social welfare and introduces relevant systems from foreign and Chinese perspectives, striving to remain free of personal opinions to ensure fairness and objectivity in its content. The book is comprehensive, with easy-to-understand language that is accessible for students to grasp. Through studying this textbook, students can systematically master the knowledge of social assistance and social welfare. This book is suitable for undergraduate students of social security majors, as well as for workers in relevant departments and general readers in society.
