How can you calculate pregnancy duration?

Patient's question:

Doctor, I am currently 10 weeks and 1 day pregnant. When did I conceive? Last menstrual period was on November 6th. I went to the hospital from the 16th to the 20th. When did the baby start?

Doctor's answer:

Since it is difficult for every pregnant woman to accurately predict the time of delivery, medicine that the estimated due date is calculated from the first day of the last menstrual period, with the entire pregnancy lasting 280 days, 10 early pregnancy months (each early pregnancy month being 28 days). If a pregnant woman goes into labor between weeks 38 and 42 of early pregnancy, it is considered full-term. Due to the varying lengths of menstrual cycles among different women, it is normal for the estimated due date to differ by 1-2 weeks from the actual due date. The month of the last menstrual period plus 9 or minus 3 gives the due date month; the day plus 7 gives the due date.
