What precautions should be taken during postpartum recovery?

Patient's question:

I have an itchy lower body, and my underwear is always yellow. What's going on? What should I pay attention to when I'm in the postpartum period?

Doctor's answer:

Hello, after a cesarean section, it is important to rest in bed. You should eat nutrient-rich and easily digestible foods such as eggs, milk, pork ribs, chicken, and fish. Avoid washing your head, taking a shower, washing your hands, and doing laundry or vegetables with cold water, otherwise, the cold stimulation may trigger arthritis and leave behind joint and muscle pain in the chilled areas. It is recommended not to use cold water too early. Generally, you can feel fetal movement between 15 to 20 weeks, it reaches its peak between 28 to 32 weeks of pregnancy, and then gradually decreases after 38 weeks. Pregnant women should start counting fetal movements from the 28th week of pregnancy. Measure it three times a day—morning, noon, and evening—each time for one hour. Pregnant women can sit or lie on their side, gently placing their hands on their abdomen to feel the fetal movements. Normal fetal movement is 3 to 5 times per hour. Alternatively, you can multiply the number of movements counted in three measurements by 4 to equal the number of movements in 12 hours, which should be 30 or more. An increase or decrease in fetal movement suggests an abnormal condition in the fetus, and medical attention should be sought promptly.
