[Preface]
In the preface, Zhongwang Huatong Design Consulting Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Zhongwang Huatong") is a young first-class design consulting company in China's communications industry, established in 2003 through the reform of the China Communications Design Institute. Supported by the Ministry of Information Industry and telecom operators, it has grown rapidly thanks to the reform and vigorous development of China's communication market in recent years. With the advancement of communication technology and market changes, its technical level and business scope have been continuously expanded, becoming a strong force in China's communication design and consulting industry. As a growing force, "daring to explore, constantly striving for progress, renewing itself daily, and pursuing excellence" is Zhongwang Huatong's guiding principle for development.
According to the needs of industry development and customer requirements, Zhongwang Huatong continuously innovates and reforms, fully utilizing favorable conditions to adapt to market changes while, based on its guiding principle, vigorously improving its professional technical foundation and conducting research on new technologies and new businesses. The Series of China Communications Technology and Application is a window reflecting Zhongwang Huatong's technological progress. This book is one of the books in The Series of China Communications Technology and Application. Through this book, readers can gain a preliminary understanding of CDMA networks and their engineering and planning design, and further explore the development of mobile communication networks and grasp the transformation of communication technology.
CDMA technology is the most advanced means of wireless network communication today, not only effectively applied in second-generation mobile communication networks but also widely adopted as the basic technology in third-generation mobile communication networks. The main technical standards of third-generation mobile communication include three systems: WCDMA, cdma2000, and TD-SCDMA, with CDMA as the fundamental technology. From wireless signal coverage to network structure deployment, from basic communication services to high-speed data, multimedia, and value-added services, there are many valuable references. From future network planning and construction to network operation, practical experience from 2.5G networks like CDMA1X will be fully referenced, including network planning, network design, network construction, and network operation.
It is evident that CDMA technology is the foundation for practical network construction and operation and an important technical means that mobile communication networks must master and apply in the coming period.
Based on CDMA95A and CDMA1X technologies, this book is a summary of the practical experience of Zhongwang Huatong's engineering and technical personnel in the planning, investigation, and design of China's CDMA network engineering construction, reflecting Zhongwang Huatong's understanding of CDMA network engineering construction and the application and practice of design processes and methods. The content includes the following aspects:
Introduction to the basic principles and network structure of CDMA;
Basic network design process and content requirements;
Design ideas for wide-area coverage and deep coverage in local areas of wireless networks;
Planning and implementation of basic network construction design solutions to quality improvement and network optimization of operational networks;
Theoretical calculation of basic traffic volume prediction to the estimation of multiple data traffic volume predictions;
Some reflections on 3G network construction, etc.
To compile this book, Zhongwang Huatong Co., Ltd. organized experienced engineering and technical personnel from various departments to summarize the practical experience of CDMA network engineering design from different levels and design professional perspectives over the years. After analysis and summarization, they incorporated the technical achievements of years of research and development through unremitting efforts to compile this book.
