This (5th edition) is primarily revised according to the basic teaching requirements for the two courses, "Electrical Technology (Electrical Engineering I)" and "Electronic Technology (Electrical Engineering II)," issued by the Ministry of Education (formerly the State Education Commission) in 1995. The book is published in two volumes: Volume 1 covers Electrical Technology, while Volume 2 covers Electronic Technology. Each chapter is accompanied by exercises. Additionally, a companion teaching reference book, "Study Guide for Electrical Engineering" (2nd edition), has been compiled. This book can be used as a textbook for non-electrical majors in higher education institutions for the aforementioned two courses, and is also suitable for other engineering majors and general readers. The (5th edition) of this book was reviewed by Professor Tang Jie from Dalian University of Technology and Professor Zhang Baoyu from Harbin Engineering University. The third edition of this book won the National Excellent Teaching Material Award in 1987, and the fourth edition received the Second Prize of the National Teaching Achievement Award and the Third Prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award in 1997.
