Features: The late Qing Dynasty Huixiang painting style, emphasizing meticulous brushwork and vibrant colors. Qi Baishi began his painting journey with traditional brush techniques and imitating ancient works, while also learning from the brilliant folk art. His early works of meticulous floral and insect paintings were exceptionally exquisite and beautiful, revealing his artistic foundations. Moreover, he paid great attention to observing nature, dedicating himself to understanding and depicting the dynamic movements and expressions of his subjects. He once said, "I can portray the essence of all insects and the spirit of a hundred birds. Only dragons have never been seen, so I dare not depict them boldly." He drew from genuine experiences in real life, allowing him to "achieve effortless mastery while capturing both form and spirit." Building on this foundation, he deliberately emulated Chen Baiyang's elegance, Xu Qingteng's simplicity, refinement, and boldness; while also absorbing the outstanding styles of Zhu Da, Jin Nong, and Ren Bo'nan, integrating the strengths of various masters, striving for continuous improvement and elevation. Unbound by conventional rules, he also forged his own unique path.
