Original stories, interesting contexts, creative learning, endless vocabulary. Vocabulary is the cornerstone of language learning. Traditionally, students' methods of memorizing words are not only monotonous and boring but also extremely inefficient. Many words are difficult to memorize, yet when it comes to using them, students are still confused. In light of this, we want to offer a new method for learning vocabulary. By connecting seemingly unrelated words with some humorous and witty stories, we have developed a vocabulary learning method: we first provide a story, and then a vocabulary list. This approach is not only simple and convenient but also full of fun. Theoretically speaking, memorizing stories is easier than memorizing words because stories have a certain developmental thread, making associations richer. This is the theoretical foundation for our series of story-based vocabulary learning textbooks. During the process of writing these stories, we found that originally dull words can become lively and engaging, and originally tedious learning can become vivid and interesting. This reminded us of the story of Christopher Columbus: cracking an egg and standing it on a table. It turns out that there are no insurmountable challenges in the world—only whether we can find the key to overcome them. Reading stories to learn vocabulary is precisely the key prepared for everyone to conquer the difficulties of vocabulary learning.
