Part 01: Haragagas Plateau · The God of Destruction, Bal
Part 01: Haragagas Plateau · The God of Destruction, Bal
The snow-covered peaks are thick with ice, reflecting the bright sunlight like mirrors. This is the closest part of the Nordic continent to the sun, and also the coldest, icy land. Every winter, the extreme cold from the Arctic sweeps across the Haragagas Plateau, with biting winds proclaiming the might and power of the gods to all living beings. Yet, they never conquer the people who have lived here for generations.
On this sacred, snow-covered land, a brutal war once shook even Europe and the entire world. "Ragnarok," as foretold, indeed erupted as predicted. The Aesir gods and the Giants, who had coexisted since ancient times but were irreconcilably opposed, fought their final battle for this "Ragnarok." Odin, the leader of the Aesir gods, had made thorough preparations for this. He ordered the Valkyries to bring the souls of brave warriors who had fallen in battle to his "Valhalla" to expand the strength of the Aesir gods. Under the divine light, the warriors of the Haragagas Plateau grew stronger and more courageous, even the Roman Pontiff in the southern part of the European continent was wary of this fierce and fearless barbarian horde.
The twilight lasted for seven days, plunging the entire Haragagas Plateau into darkness. Gods and Giants carried out ruthless killings, their blood staining the dark sky. Without the sun, without sunlight, the remaining people ceased all activity, able to do nothing but witness this terrible war from the sidelines. Countless Giants fell in the war, but the Aesir gods suffered heavy losses as well, and even the main god Odin was swallowed by the giant wolf Fenrir—this is the legendary "Ragnarok." Whether gods or Giants, everything would return to nothing after the twilight, until the arrival of the next reborn era.
Although the Nordic Aesir gods fell in the twilight, the people here still inherited the beliefs and will of the gods. They understood that the gods had gone to their heavens, but the people of the Haragagas Plateau still needed to survive. Their bodies must grow stronger, and their souls must become more resilient, so that they could continue to live after losing the gods' protection. When the Aesir gods return to this world in a future era, they would be ready. Strength and courage hold supreme here. From birth, they face a harsh fate—when they are eight years old, they are sent into the desolate forests, where cold and beasts will help to select the superior offspring.
This is a world where only the strong are worthy of survival and respect.
