Features: Starting in the late 1970s, China's development entered a new era, with remarkable changes in society, economy, science, technology, and culture. After entering the new century, the theme of China's development shifted further from pursuing basic subsistence to comprehensively building a moderately prosperous society. Over the past two decades, under the historical backdrop of reform and opening-up, China has introduced and produced many unprecedented things, and the postdoctoral system is a prime example. Since 1985, China's postdoctoral system has gone through 20 years of development. The transition from a planned economy system to a socialist market economy system with Chinese characteristics, the shift from a closed economy to an open economy, the move from an extensive growth model to an intensive growth model, the exploration from a dual urban-rural structure to the path of informatization and new industrialization, and the transition from solely pursuing economic growth to the proposal of the scientific development concept—all these mark the gradual upgrading of China's economic development and reflect the transformation of themes and practical exploration in China's economic growth. In the process of tremendous changes in China's social and economic landscape, the socialist market economy system has been further refined. As young scholars primarily engaged in economic research, the postdoctoral community has made insightful and perceptive explorations in theory and practice across various aspects such as economic development, social harmony, financial innovation, capital markets, and management transformation, contributing meaningfully and effectively. Theoretical analyses of China's economic development, recommendations for the development of China's capital markets, discussions on corporate governance in China, explorations into the development models of Chinese multinational enterprises, and cutting-edge thinking on corporate management—all these reflect innovative theoretical reflections or practical operational advice, demonstrating that the postdoctoral community in China has been and continues to be highly productive in addressing key issues related to China's development. On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the postdoctoral system and the 100th anniversary of Fudan University, Fudan University hosted the Shanghai Postdoctoral Economic Management Forum. This event serves as both a commemoration of the 20th anniversary of the postdoctoral system and a celebration of Fudan University, this century-old institution. The papers included in this book were selected through expert review and reflect some of the research achievements of postdoctorals in Shanghai in the fields of economics and management. As China's economy continues to develop, new issues and themes will emerge, providing fresh opportunities for theoretical exploration. Postdoctorals should be able to make even greater contributions.
