Features: This book is one of the "Zanth series" that "redefined the entire fantasy novel genre." Zanth is a land ruled by magic, where everyone possesses unique magical abilities, along with Centaurs, Dragons, and Serpents. In the "Zanth" series, author Anthony uses and childlike humor to satirize the various weaknesses of human nature, enhancing the book's charm. This later became a typical feature of Anthony's works. Reading Anthony's books is like immersing yourself in the wonderful world of Mozart's string quartet; the highly imaginative content makes it hard to put down!
This is a magical land, a world where magic rules everything. In the sky, fire dragons soar; in the water, mermaids play; on the land, Centaurs and strange creatures gallop. The flora includes both terrifying predatory trees and pleasant beer trees, bread trees, and fruit trees. Even inanimate objects have their own ways of seeking advantage and avoiding harm: stones turn into standing odd rocks to avoid being crushed into paving stones; lakes dress themselves up as cool and sweet to maintain their ecosystem. Animals, plants, and inanimate objects compete with each other while also depending on one another, forming a vibrant world.
The rulers of this world are humans, those who possess magic. Their ancestors were ordinary, living in an ordinary world, leading ordinary lives. Even after migrating into this magical land, their lives remained ordinary. However, gradually, they realized that their descendants possessed abilities beyond imagination, becoming part of this magical world, and even its masters—the powerful magicians. Because the land itself is magical. The name of this world is: Zanth.
Zanth has no conventional entrance, and no one knows how to enter it. Zanthians come from all corners of the ordinary world. For those who wish to reach Zanth, it seems close at hand. But once they take a step, they discover they are already at the ends of the earth.
Dear readers, what you hold in your hands is another convenient gateway to Zanth. Turn the pages, and you will step onto the magical land of Zanth.
