Features: Our gaze stretches ever longer, as if we glimpse communism. I think that is the life I truly long for. The Slap Resounds tells the story of an ordinary working-class family, capturing the coming-of-age ritual of an entire generation born in the 1960s and faithfully depicting their spiritual awakening. To a certain extent, it is the soul history of this generation. The book gathers the broken and fractured souls who have been hurt by others and, in turn, have hurt others, even occasionally harming one another. Here, all established traditional ethical relationships are profoundly questioned and dismantled. This long was a finalist for the 5th Mao Dun Literature Prize and was adapted into a 20-episode television drama titled Resounding and a film Sister's Dictionary. Jiang Qinqin was nominated for the Best Actress award at the 24th Huajing Film Awards for her outstanding portrayal of Niu Hongmei.
