Features: You are a celestial being; you were originally in heaven, but you came to the mortal world. Peach blossoms resent you, the spring breeze resent you, so you suffer endless hardships. The stories in this book are all related to bandits. Bandits, women, and sexuality constitute the most striking elements in Jia Pingwa's "bandit novels." As he said, "When I write, it stems from human nature, from the nature of a man, celebrating an essential, natural woman." In his works, whether men are physically frail or fierce, their veins flow with untamed blood. Women are typically enchanting and alluring, but their hearts are straightforward and lingering. Sexuality binds these bold and sincere men and women together. Reading these words, you can see the turbulent heart beneath Jia Pingwa's simple and unassuming expression.
