A long, long time ago, in a remote village, there was a red house where two little treasures lived. Rich Treasure’s room was always tidy and beautiful, while the other messy room was occupied by Poor Treasure. They had two common friends—Lots of Coins and the Piggy Bank. Lots of Coins liked to play games in Rich Treasure’s room because it had all kinds of toys, many interesting books, and delicious snacks. In Poor Treasure’s room, everything was a mess, and Lots of Coins would only feel sleepy if he went there. The Piggy Bank was even unwilling to let Poor Treasure take care of it because there were no delicious snacks in Poor Treasure’s house, and even basic food was often scarce. The Piggy Bank could only eat well and grow bigger when it was with Rich Treasure.
Rich Treasure worried that everyone would neglect Poor Treasure, so she often invited Poor Treasure over for visits and encouraged Lots of Coins and the Piggy Bank to help clean Poor Treasure’s house. Rich Treasure’s kindness won everyone’s affection.
One day, a fierce storm collapsed the red house where Rich Treasure and Poor Treasure lived, turning their home into ruins. Poor Treasure was very anxious and quickly looked for Lots of Coins for help, but Lots of Coins couldn’t help but feel sleepy the moment he saw him. With no other choice, Poor Treasure had to look for the Piggy Bank. The Piggy Bank was in a dilemma—without food, he had no strength to help Poor Treasure, but where could Poor Treasure find enough food to fill the Piggy Bank’s belly? Just as Poor Treasure was in a bind, Rich Treasure rushed over with Lots of Coins and the Piggy Bank. It turned out that Rich Treasure had already fed the Piggy Bank, and Lots of Coins, encouraged by Rich Treasure, had also gathered the courage to help. Together, they moved bricks and wood, using their wisdom to rebuild a more beautiful new home than before. Poor Treasure felt ashamed but also grateful for his friends’ help. Without their assistance, he wouldn’t have a home. Determined to learn from Rich Treasure, Poor Treasure wondered how he could do so.
