Features: The motherland has a long and profound history. Ancient sages like Qi Huang and Shennong were the pioneers of medicine; Han Dynasty's Zhang Zhongjing and Hua Tuo were revered as the sages of medicine. Throughout the long river of the development of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), outstanding clinical experts have emerged one after another, promoting the rapid growth of TCM. To carry forward the spirit of inheriting and developing the motherland's medical heritage—without rigidly adhering to ancient practices while staying true to its essence—the China National Press of TCM published the "Comprehensive Collection of Ming and Qing Dynasty Medical Masters" and then planned the "Series of 100 Famous TCM Clinical Masters in China." This series aims to reflect the development of TCM in the modern era, especially since the founding of the People's Republic of China 50 years ago. We invited Minister Zhang Wenkang of the Ministry of Health to serve as the chief editor, with Deputy Minister of Health and Director of the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, She Jing, and Deputy Director of the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Li Zhenji, as deputy editors. They readily agreed and personally organized hundreds of TCM experts to compile the series. After years of effort, it was finally launched in the early 21st century.
The series plans to publish around 140 volumes, featuring TCM clinicians who have achieved outstanding accomplishments in clinical practice, enjoy high prestige nationwide, and possess profound academic expertise. These include representative figures from various disciplines such as internal medicine, surgery, gynecology, pediatrics, orthopedics, and acupuncture. We believe that the "Series of 100 Famous TCM Clinical Masters in China" will be favored by TCM practitioners and will significantly promote the development of the TCM profession. At the same time, by summarizing the experiences of over a hundred TCM clinical masters, the series clearly presents the development of TCM over the past century. Therefore, this series not only holds high clinical and academic value but also unprecedented documentary value, which is the heartfelt motivation behind organizing its compilation.
