This series of books, since the first batch of "Mathematical Learning Theory" was published in March 1991, has now been around for six years. If we count from the early stages of compiling the series of teaching theory books for mathematics in early 1988, it has spanned nine years. Today, the teaching theory series for five major subjects—mathematics, physics, chemistry, Chinese, and foreign languages—have been completed, with 6 books for each subject, totaling 30 books, named the "Modern Educational Theory Series for Disciplines." With tens of millions of words, it has formed the theoretical foundation for basic subjects and also become the core project and fundamental publishing characteristic of our press. Taking nearly a decade to build a series of educational theory books that embody Chinese characteristics, the twists, turns, joys, and sorrows along the way are hard to put into words. But from the perspective of reflecting teaching reform achievements and serving teaching reforms, it is our bound duty. Considering the construction of our press's publishing identity and culture, it holds profound significance and great value. In the new historical period of reform and opening up, what can a press rely on to sustain itself? What can it compete with? What can it develop through? What can it contribute? There can be many answers and numerous strategies. But fundamentally, it cannot do without these two pillars:

2. Renowned premium works.
Core projects represent a press's strategic layout, while premium works are its soul and lifeblood. The perfect integration of both constitutes a press's quality, credibility, reputation, and cultural sophistication. It is the foundation of a press's competitive edge, its driving force for sustainable development, its core of cultural accumulation, and the fundamental guarantee of contributing excellent culture to the people.
With this understanding and pursuit, we have published this series. Of course, we have also published several other series. We look forward to the readers' judgment. We embrace the market's test.
