Features: This series of "Guides to Masterpieces of Language and Literature for Higher Education" (10 volumes in total) was compiled to meet the needs of this new teaching reform. It aims to provide college students majoring in Chinese (including working adults) with a comprehensive, well-structured, carefully selected, and scientifically arranged collection of classic works in language and literature, along with necessary guidance for reading and understanding these texts. Unlike general appreciation or introductory anthologies, our main objective is to offer students authentic selections from the original classics. Therefore, our focus lies in "selection." We strive to choose the best works that truly reflect the scope of the discipline and represent its essence. As for "guidance," it primarily involves providing background knowledge and relevant materials to aid in comprehension, offering guiding insights, and maximizing inspiration while minimizing imposed conclusions. The goal is to leave space for students to read, digest, savor, and reflect on the works independently, thereby developing their skills, accumulating knowledge, nurturing their emotions, and elevating their thoughts. Thus, the writing principles of this series are: highlighting the original works, providing concise guidance, showcasing distinctive features, and ensuring suitability for teaching.
