The Greeks believed that gods created the world and humans; the gods governed the sky, the human world, and the underworld, ruling over the past, present, and future. They sought explanations for all the magical natural forces and life phenomena, shaping a world of gods with rich imagination and vivid descriptions. The myths narrated the ancient history of humanity, praised heroes, celebrated labor, and honored life, providing future generations with a rich cultural heritage.
