Features: In 1988 and 1990, dozens of NPC and CPPCC members successively proposed resolutions to establish state-level support for the Geser project, allocating special funds to compile and publish a selected version of the Tibetan Geser, as an official edition representing national standards. Based on the proposals of NPC and CPPCC members, and considering the practical progress of the Geser project and the objective needs of academic development, the project was officially approved in 1995 and funded by the state. It was listed as a key project of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS), organized and led by the Institute of Ethnic Literature of CASS. This is a cross-century cultural project. Academic advisor was Comrade Apai A, Vice Chairman of the CPPCC, and Chief Editor was Comrade Jiangbing Jiacuo. The participants in the selected edition compilation were all experts and scholars with long-term experience in collecting, organizing, and academically researching the Geser, possessing rich practical experience and high theoretical cultivation.
